About

Hi, my name is George Kunberger. I’m a retired engineer who took up photography in retirement as a hobby and as a way to keep my mind active. Have you heard this before? Little did I know that taking photos, all kinds of photos, would be so much fun and would quickly become a passion. I love photographing beautiful landscapes, in our country’s national, historic and state parks, along our coast lines and in our vast agricultural lands. My goal is to of course capture their beauty, but more importantly, to convey the feeling of awe that I feel whenever look out over a magnificent mountain vista or the peaceful meadows that are reminders of some of our nation’s greatest struggles.

In addition to landscapes, I am captivated by the exquisite beauty of flowers and plants. When viewed up close, it is easy to see how the laws of nature play out in their beauty, shapes and patterns. They are pieces of art, just as they are. In this portfolio you will also find what I have called “Photo Art”. These photos are of ordinary objects or places. Using varying perspectives, lighting, editing and cropping techniques, I have tried to create interesting and sometimes abstract representations. To me these are both beautiful and fun and help me to expand my creative thinking and process.

I hope you enjoy this portfolio of my work. If you are interested in purchasing any prints, I will be most happy to hear from you. Many of these photos are high resolution and can be printed at varying sizes from small to quite large and on fine art paper, acrylic, metal and canvas. I will be happy to discuss my thoughts on how to best to display any of these photos. Please reach out to through the contact info provided.

In addition, if you have a particular place or object that you would like me to photograph for you, I will be happy to work that into my schedule.

Regards

George
